  • 5th Grade Loves Science!

    For the past week, 5th graders have been growing seeds by using the “Paper Towel" method. This method makes use of damp paper towels to act as a germination medium. The procedure involves putting seeds on a moist paper towel and covering them up with a second moist paper towel.     In recognition of Election Day, Kindergarten through 3rd grade gathered to learn about our country’s election process.   • St. Barbara celebrates Grandparents Day! - 9/16/16

    This past Friday, we celebrated Grandparents Day! Many grandparents, along with their grandchildren, gathered for morning Mass. Father Arthur blessed all grandparents and thanked them for being such an important part of our students’ lives.   • St. Barbara Loves Art! - 9/14/16

    Last week, our students began participating in our Fine Arts program. Art classes, taught by Ms. Roberta Mezinskas, focus on the creation of art as a process. Currently, students are learning the basics of drawing, painting and sculpture. In the coming weeks, they will also focus on the annual school theme, “Bulldogs Make a Difference” by working on projects that explore and celebrate service.

    This week, students visited our two libraries for the first time this school year. Ms. Hailer, our librarian, worked diligently this summer to organize both libraries which contain over 8,000 books! The first floor library is used by Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
