St. Barbara Elementary School is comprised of a dedicated faculty and staff. All of our faculty have college degrees and are certified by the State of Illinois. Many faculty have advanced degrees.
Our faculty is committed to Catholic education and the mission of St. Barbara School. Teaching the Catholic faith and values are important to who we are as a school family.

Ms. Skiouris received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She previously taught kindergarten at Lake in the Hills Elementary School, and taught first and second grade at Francis W. Parker School.
Ms. Wargo attended the University of Michigan - School of Education and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Her certifications include: ELS (PEDU) Elementary Education (Self Contained General Education) - Kindergarten through Grade 9. Ms. Wargo previously taught primary grades at several schools in Michigan. She coordinates the afterschool activity, Healthy Kids Club. Ms. Wargo looks forward to her 3rd year at St. Barbara.
Mrs. Krok attended the University of Illinois, Chicago and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Krok previously taught 4th grade at Saints Peter and Paul School and was then a substitute teacher at McKinley Park Catholic. In 2002, Mrs. Krok began working at St. Barbara. Throughout the years she has been a substitute teacher, long-term sub, and has taught 3rd and 4th grade. She looks forward to her second year teaching 1st grade.
Ms. Moore is a graduate of the University of Missouri and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She has taught self-contained classrooms in both second and fifth grade through her pre-service teaching in Columbia, Missouri. She has also taught two fourth grade classes in Bangalore, India and the Gayaza Village in Uganda.
Mrs. Jurisic attended DePaul University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She is also a Type 03 Certified Educator, with an endorsement in Language Arts. Throughout her years at St. Barbara, Mrs. Jurisic has been an Assistant Principal, trained as an Everyday Math Teacher Leader and Power User, was certified as a Catechist to prepare students for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion and co-planned school operas. She has also participated in professional development in the areas of Math, Literacy, Science Inquiry, and Writing. She was previously nominated for the Golden Apple and Heart of the School Awards. Mrs. Jurisic also sits on the Board of Specified Jurisdication as the Mission Chairperson.
Mrs. LoPiccolo attended the University of Illinois (Chicago), Loyola University and studied at the University of Salamanca in Spain. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a minor in Science. Her Master's work was in Spanish literature. She holds two teaching certifications, which enables her to teach from K through 12. Mrs. LoPiccolo has been with St. Barbara for nearly 30 years; some of those years as a part-time Art and Spanish teacher. In 2014, Mrs. LoPiccolo received a Distinguished Service Award from the Archdiocese of Chicago. She is the publisher of the Student Newspaper Club.
Fifth Grade Homeroom
Ms. Mison attended DePaul University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She holds a Type 03 Certification with an endorsement in Language Arts. In addition to her teaching credentials, she has been the AdvancED Accreditation Chair person for three years and has trained as an Everyday Math Teacher Leader and Power User.
Sixth Grade Homeroom
Mrs. Lytton earned a Bachelor of Science in English & Speech Communications, and has a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. In her 25 years of educational experience, she has taught various grade levels and was an assistant principal for three years in a Catholic High School before coming to St. Barbara. Mrs. Lytton brings passion and dedication to our school and she looks forward to serving the St. Barbara community.
Seventh Grade Homeroom
Mr. Jenrich attended Valparaiso University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He holds a Type 09 Certification and has been teaching in the Bridgeport community for 8 years, teaching in multiple grades ranging from 3rd through 8th. Additionally, Mr. Jenrich actively participates in the Brush Creek Ranch Program organized by the Big Shoulder Fund. He also is an in-home behavioral therapist where he works with children with autism.
Eighth Grade Homeroom
Ms. Mohr graduated from Moraine Valley Community College with an Associate of Arts degree. She then attended Northern Illinois University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree. Most recently, Ms. Mohr attended Saint Xavier University where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration. She holds a Type 03 Certification and has also trained as an Everyday Math Teacher Leader and Power User.
Mrs. McCoy graduated from the University of Dayton with a major in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and Math. She taught sixth grade at S.E. Gross Middle School in Brookfield for fourteen years. She received a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Instruction-Language Arts from Northeastern Illinois University. She is looking forward to teaching Title I at St. Barbara this year.
Ms. Hudren attended De Paul University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Graduate work was in Religious Studies at Fordham University in New York. Her teaching experiences include Catholic elementary and secondary schools, and Schaumburg District #54 Public Schools. She was Dean of Students for fifteen years at two Catholic girls’ high schools and a CCD high school coordinator for a parish in Bartlett, IL. St. Barbara School knows her as teacher, tutor and former member of its Board of Specified Jurisdiction.
Ms. Mezinskas is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute, having received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a specialization in studio art and art history. With over 30 years of teaching experience, she has taught at Art Resources in Teaching, Art Excel, St. Paul Elementary School, and has been teaching at St. Barbara since 2011. She is also a practicing artist in enamels on glass and has regular art showings. Ms. “M” coordinates the annual Art Fair at St. Barbara which highlights artwork created by students throughout the year. She coordinates the extracurricular activity, Art Club.
Mr. Ochoa is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago. He holds a Type 29 Bilingual Educator Certification with an endorsement in Spanish, and is a Certified Duolingo Educator. He has received his Catechetical Certification from the diocesan Office of Lifelong Formation. As the coordinator of the Genealogy Club, Mr. Ochoa has completed a Genealogical Research Certificate Program from Boston University’s Center for Professional Development, and is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. Additionally, he is the Marketing Director and provides technology support.
